Die Burg Vajdahunyad hatte es mir in Budapest am meisten angetan. Sie wirkte für mich wie ein Märchenschloss vergangener Zeiten. Dabei entstand sie erst Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts im Rahmen der Budapester Milleniumsausstellung und beherbergt nun schon lange das ungarische Landwirtschaftsmuseum. Seit 1991 ist sie ein geschütztes Baudenkmal.
Sie liegt ziemlich idyllisch im Stadtwäldchen auf einer Insel innerhalb des künstlich angelegten Sees. Wenn ihr mal in Budapest seid … geht unbedingt dorthin!

Vajdahunyad Castle was my favourite part of Budapest. To me, it looked like a fairytale castle from a bygone era. Yet it was only built at the beginning of the 20th century as part of the Budapest Millennium Exhibition and has long been home to the Hungarian Agricultural Museum. It has been a protected monument since 1991.
It is idyllically situated in the city forest on an island within the artificial lake. If you’re ever in Budapest ... make sure you go there!
