The Dead Sea is one of the top destinations during weekends or festivities for Jordanians. On these days, many locals from Amman and Madaba flock into the accessible areas of the coast. Despite the unavoidable trail of trash and litter lining the beaches, people from the working class prefer these free areas over the expensive five-star resorts and hotels that are right next door. Women, men and children gather together in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere. With some floating in the salty sea water, and others slathering themselves with revitalizing Dead Sea mud or showering in the natural mineral springs, a beautiful sonata is composed, which only vanishes when the sun sets into the far horizon
