The Lighthouse
in Point Clark at Lake Huron, Ontario ....
The tower is 34 m tall, made primarily of cut limestone brought from Inverhuron by barge, but a section near the top is made of granite for extra rigidity. There are 114 steps from the bottom to the lantern room. The 12 sided cast iron lantern was first lit on April 1, 1859 and is 27 m from the base of the tower. The light keeper's house, resembling a British stone cottage, is a Recognized Federal Heritage Building.

J'aime cette composition fortement structurée par la masse solide du phare , les arbres qui se dessinent sur le ciel et le " cubisme " des maisons blanches et rouges ;Compliments

Belle lumière latérale sur le phare et les bâtiments environnants, façades blanches et toits rouges! Belle construction d'image aussi, le phare s'intègre dans un paysage local, où les verticales des arbres verts en dégradés de tailles et les verticales graphiques des poteaux fichés dans le sol, rythment l'image en hommage à la verticale du phare! A lot of german lighthouses have a similar type of construction, but normally they are built not with limestone but with fired bricks or cast iron segments. A fine thing is the good maintained condition of this lighthouse. A fine capture in the warm light of the evening.Warm regards Bernd
