The Living Forest (154) : Greater Stitchwort & Yellow Archangel

2 different wild flowers together in 1 shot.

Greater Stitchwort (left) is a beautiful and pretty flower appearing in woodland in springtime.
The name originates from its ancient herbal use of alleviating a "stitch" in the side.

Dutch name : Grote Muur
German name : Grosse Sternmiere
Latin name : Stellaria holostea

Yellow Archangel (right) with its vivid yellow flowers can mostly be found in the darkest places of the forest.
Nowadays, sometimes also used as a cultivated garden plant or as an ornamental in hanging baskets.
The leaves of the Yellow Archangel appear superficially similar to those of the Stinging Nettle (Urtica dioica) but do not sting.

Dutch name : Gele dovenetel
German name : Goldnessel
Latin name : Lamium galeobdolon
